LAND OF PROMISES (2016)
One hundred years after the Sykes-Picot agreement, I went to Israel with the idea to make a visual essay about the current times. This project was never about telling a truth, but the result of a reflection on some contradictory promises made during the First World War, and the implications that were caused by them, in the perspective that they are still continuing to influence the status quo. The title evokes a cross-reference, on one hand the promises made by the French and British diplomats, and, on the other hand, the idea of a land that was promised and given by Yahweh to Abraham and his descendants.
